SUCCESS STORY – Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c
ACT enhances Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure for a Global Insurance provider.
THE JOURNEY
In March 2021, the team from ACT Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd embarked on an Oracle Fusion Middleware upgrade services for an Insurance provider based in Kuala Lumpur.
The core system upgrade services was conducted for applications across Indonesia, Singapore & Malaysia.
The customer optimizes its web-based applications with Oracle’s WebLogic & Oracle’s Forms & Reports. Both are robust Fusion Middleware products.
Oracle WebLogic Server is the industry leading application server for building enterprise applications using Java EE standards, and deploying them on a reliable, scalable runtime with low cost of ownership. It is strategically integrated with Oracle’s full product and cloud service portfolio.
Oracle Forms is a software product for creating screens that interact with an Oracle database. It has an IDE including an object navigator, property sheet and code editor that uses PL/SQL.
It was originally developed to run server-side in character mode terminal sessions. It was ported to other platforms, including Windows, to function in a client–server environment. Later versions were ported to Java where it runs in a Java EE container and can integrate with Java and web services.
Using the latest version you can easily integrate with nearly any modern or legacy technology your application requires.
Whether your application needs to include authentication using Oracle Access Manager, or communicate with Web Services, or run reports in Oracle Reports or Oracle BI-Publisher, or even work with Microsoft Office tools, Oracle Forms can get the job done.
Oracle Reports, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware is Oracle’s award- winning, high-fidelity enterprise reporting tool. It enables businesses to provide instant access to information to all levels within and outside of the organization in a scalable and secure environment.
Oracle Reports consists of Oracle Reports Developer – a powerful, declarative WYSIWYG reports design tool and a JEE 5 based Oracle Reports Server with multi-tier architecture to access any data sources, generate reports in any popular format for web and paper, and to burst and distribute reports to any destination.
Oracle remains committed to the development of this technology, and to the ongoing release as a component of the Oracle Fusion Middleware platform.
The project was completed successfully as planned with many new features introduced to the customer’s application & reports. By the upgrade the fusion middleware layer, the customer also have managed to enhance the security features of their applications.
We believe with the success of this implementation the customer will be able to experience the enhanced performance of their secured enterprise applications and with that be able to drive their business forward.
