ORACLE DATABASE APPLIANCE (ODA)

In December 2018, the team from ACT Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd helped a manufacturing customer based in East Malaysia to embark on an Oracle Engi- neered Systems journey to host their core application database on the Oracle Database Appliance High Availability model.

The Oracle Database Appliance is a completely integrated package of software, compute, networking and storage that’s been optimized and engineered to offer the best performance for the Oracle Databases and applications. It’s engineered for simplicity and faster time to value, so can databases and applications can run on a single, managed appliance, with single-vendor support.

Given the tight deadline, ACT with the assistance of our Principal, Distributor & Customer manage to deliver & implement the entire project within the stipulat- ed timeframe.

Our responsibilities included:-

New ODA X7-2 HA Installation
Oracle VM Virtualization Configuration
Oracle Database 12c Upgrade and Migration
On-Site Standby for Live Cut-Over

The project was completed successfully as planned with many new features introduced to the customer’s database which would greatly benefit them. We hope with this implementation the customer will be able to experience the en- hanced performance of their database and with that be able to drive their busi- ness forward.
